Optional Tour of New Orleans before 5 pm departure
Only this time, we sail in the United States, on the Mississippi River
from New Orleans to Memphis with an Antebellum South theme.
Have you ever wondered what this country looked like to its natives,
early explorers, and pioneers? Traveling on the Mighty Mississippi
aboard your own steamboat paddle wheeler (actually steam &
paddle driven) will transport you back in time to an era of leisurely and
romanticized idea of travel. Storybook American towns and vibrant,
bustling cities provide a bit of excitement between peaceful fields,
majestic panoramas, and high bluffs.
There is no better way to see this part of America than from the
perspective of the river, for the river has played a tremendous role in
the shaping of this country and the lives of the people who inhabit
it . . . A cultural immersion experience for all parties! Starting with the
Natives to now . . . It’s a novel trip through-and-through.
It’s exposure to parts of the country many don’t visit.
The Mississippi is central to the country’s development and
a hugely significant economic infrastructure today.
~ On-Board – Included ~
Free coffee, tea, soft drinks, water
Free wine and beer with dinner
Wi-Fi service
Bicycle use – limited number
Shore excursions with attraction entrance
Hop-On, Hop-Off motor coach
Our first adventure on this historic river is noted to include: Authentic
Southern Culture, Mississippi Delta Heritage, Sprawling Sugarcane and
Cotton Plantations, Majestic Mansions, Antebellum Architecture, New
Orleans Jazz and Historic French Quarter, Civil War Battlefield, National
Civil Rights Museum, Classic Cajun & Creole Cuisine, and if you
choose, even a tour to the King of Rock & Roll’s
Graceland.
Thing is – it is all so easy! Not even a passport is required.
You can arrive at your included one night hotel stay in New Orleans,
walk almost next door to the riverside shopping outlets, and/or take a
short walk to the French Quarter (or Uber for $5). And on embarkation
day, you can enjoy a complimentary breakfast in the morning, put your
luggage out so staff can transfer it to the ship, and take an optional city
tour.
In any case, it is a very short walk to your paddle wheeler. Of course,
a complimentary motor coach is also provided to the boat as well. Then
in Memphis, you can stay longer at a post hotel option. Or take a direct
airport transfer or the transfer to the airport that includes a stop at
Graceland.
~ Post-Cruise – Optional ~
December 9, 2019
Tour of Elvis Presley’s home Graceland
Optional hotel
And there are loads of options to do more. Like what about coming
into New Orleans earlier and enjoying the food, the camaraderie, and
more with your fellow Cruise Trekkers?! Not to mention all that this
famous city has to offer. Let’s stroll down Bourbon Street
together! Maybe collect some beads?
In addition to the history, special highlights, and advantages of
this Cruise Trek adventure, all will include local entertainment, music
performances, lectures, cooking demonstrations, and theme dinners.
Included in your cruise fare is one night hotel in New Orleans with
breakfast; and on board – 24-hour room service, all meals,
coffee, tea, soft drinks & water, and with dinner, additionally
wine & beer, Wi-Fi service, bicycle use (limited number), shore
excursions with attraction entrance via a Hop-on, Hop-off motor coach.
The best thing – we dock right in the middle of all there is
– as they say – from Bourbon Street to Beale Street.
